The UniSA Library Databases in Focus series showcases features of databases available to UniSA students and staff. These concise one-hour workshops provide the opportunity to explore what these powerful literature search tools can offer for study, teaching, and research. 

CINAHL Complete 

CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) Complete is a key database for nursing and allied health discipline areas. With material going back to the 1930s, CINAHL Complete offers a mix of local and international content, including leading Australian journals. CINAHL Complete is provided through the EBSCOhost platform and is a key database for reviews that have a nursing or allied health focus. Whether looking for just a handful of articles or searching systematically, CINAHL Complete is a great database to explore.

• discover why and when to use CINAHL Complete (EBSCOhost) 
• practice basic searching to find a few articles on a topic 
• explore the powerful CINAHL Complete limits (search refinement options) 
• learn key features of the contemporary EBSCOhost platform  
• learn about advanced search options, such as: 
  • how to use the CINAHL Complete thesaurus (Subject Headings)
  • combining and editing searches using the search history 
• learn a few of the key approaches and requirements when using CINAHL Complete for systematic searching as part of a reportable, comprehensive search strategy
