SciFinder Discovery Platform: IP, patents

Learn more about using search tool SciFinder through a series of workshops brough to you by Clinical Health Sciences, the UniSA Library and Chemical Abstract Services (CAS).

The SciFinder Discovery Platform is designed to support multiple stages and types of scientific research. A comprehensive and accurate collection of chemical reactions, chemical substances, substance properties and scientific literature curated by expert scientists, SciFinder will help you search existing literature, patents and other sources for formulas, ingredients, analytical methodologies and more.

 

Who is it for? 
If your field of study or research involves chemistry or related fields such as pharmacy, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, forensics, environmental monitoring or climate research, then these workshops are for you.

 

Workshops will cover:


•    Content and coverage in SciFinder-n
•    Indexing policies and methods to leverage this knowledge for accurate results
•    Comprehensive searching strategies to ensure the best retrieval of results
•    Precision searching and tips and tricks to mitigate irrelevant content retrieval
•    Strategies for effective structure and reaction searching
•    Use of CAS Analytical Methods and CAS Formulus 

 

Preparation:

If you already have a SciFinder-n account you do not need to register again.
